Privacy policy

Effective July 13, 2026. This independent extension processes selected SIS content locally to present a clearer interface.

Data the extension handles

The extension reads content already displayed in the signed-in SIS page, including course information, schedules, enrollment planning, academic records, advisor details, and supported applications. Depending on the page, this may include a student's name or identifier, courses, grades, advisor information, or application status.

Processing happens locally in the browser. SIS page content is not sent to the developer or to a developer-operated server. The extension does not read, store, or transmit SIS passwords. Login and logout remain in native SIS.

Local storage

Chrome extension storage contains only interface preferences such as enabled state, theme, accent, and compact mode. Chrome may sync these non-SIS preferences when Chrome Sync is enabled. Temporary search choices and navigation state may remain in the current SIS tab's browser storage so PeopleSoft postbacks and Back navigation preserve selections.

The extension does not store copies of grades, transcripts, complete schedules, personal-data pages, authentication cookies, or passwords in extension storage.

Network communication

The extension has no analytics, advertising, telemetry, or developer data service. SIS requests travel directly between the user's browser and sis.cuhk.edu.cn through the existing authenticated session. The extension does not proxy them through another server.

Limited use of user data

The extension uses SIS page content only to provide or improve its disclosed single purpose: presenting the current user's SIS workflows in a clearer interface. User data is not sold or transferred to third parties except if required by law or necessary to address a security issue, is not used for unrelated purposes, advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, or lending, and is not read by humans unless a user deliberately provides a redacted support sample.

Permissions

storage saves UI preferences.
scripting invokes the existing PeopleSoft action for a control the user explicitly clicked; it does not load remote code.
Host access is limited to https://sis.cuhk.edu.cn/*.
all_frames reaches the PeopleSoft working iframe while runtime checks skip login and non-content frames.

Retention and deletion

Temporary session state expires with the tab or browser session. Users can reset extension settings, clear Chrome extension and SIS site data, or uninstall the extension.
